Welcome to our school’s website
Eastfield Infant and Nursery School is in the beautiful town of St Ives, Cambridgeshire. The school currently consists of a Nursery, which offers spaces for pupils mornings and afternoons. The main school building teaches pupils from Reception to Year two. Our school benefits from excellent links with Westfield Junior School and this ensures a good quality transition for our pupils when they reach Key Stage 2. Our school has served the town of St Ives for just over 50 years now!

We provide a broad curriculum at Eastfield and lead with the children’s interests in mind whenever we can. We are also very fortunate to have the richly historical Riverport on our doorstep.  This provides us with many learning opportunities and we take advantage of what this has to offer whenever possible. When appropriate to the children’s experiences and learning we invite visitors into the school to provide a wide range of enrichment opportunities. Recently, these have included the Britten Sinfonia, a pantomime of ‘Cinderella” and The Raptor Foundation, who brought in a small selection of owls and birds for a flying display.
When circumstances allow, the children at Eastfield are offered a range of extra-curricular activities to enjoy from lunchtime Lego Club to yoga, choir and much more.
Here at Eastfield, we are very proud of our pupils. In our most recent OFSTED, the team reported that, “Pupils enjoy school and are happy. They are well cared for by staff and encouraged to do their very best. Pupils are confident and are keen to talk about their school. Pupils are polite and considerate towards one another and adults.”
We are very fortunate to have lovely grounds at the school which includes a wooded area, well established playing areas, beautiful Early Years gardens and a sensory garden with a pond. We are extremely proud of our pond area, after it was commended by the judges during a St Ives in Bloom competition. These areas enable us to provide excellent spaces for outdoor learning for pupils across the school.
Our school also benefits from the on-site wrap around care provided by Club4U. The club provides breakfast club and after school club for Eastfield and Westfield pupils. Club4U also provides a pre-school for 2 year olds. If you would like more information on Club4U, please look at their page on our website.
We have tried to provide as much information as we can within this website, but a visit to our school will give you a much better picture of what we can provide for you and your child.
Please contact us to arrange a visit and a member of staff will be happy to show you around and answer any questions you may have.
